Basic computer usage covers the use of Access Centre computers for Internet, Email, Word Processing, and other tasks. Please note that the basic usage fees do not cover printing, scanning, CD burning, or other services.

Hourly: $1/hour

Memberships*
    One Month: $10/Individual, $15/Family
    Six Months: $30/Individual, $45/Family
    One Year: $60/Individual, $90/Family

*Note: memberships are valid at all member Centres of the Northside Access Network.

Lunch Hour: $1
Note: this only applies to the Nashwaaksis and Devon Access Centres and only to students of the Nashwaaksis and Devon Middle Schools.

Below is a list of the instructor-based courses we offer. Our courses are not typically offered on a set schedule - instead, we set up a time within a Centre's Operating Hours that is convenient to those who wish to take training.

Introduction to Computers
This course teaches students the basic skills required to use a computer. Suitable for those who little-to-no computer experience.
Duration: 2 hours
Price: $15

Introduction to Windows
This course teaches the basics of the Microsoft Windows Operating System. Topics include: opening programs and files, managing files and folders, multitasking, and more. Suitable for people who have used computers before, but wish to become more proficient.
Duration: 5-6 hours
Price: $50

Internet and Email
This course teaches web browsing and Email with Microsoft Internet Explorer and Outlook Express. Topics include: navigation of the World Wide Web, the use and organization of Favorite Places, sending and replying to Email, and more. Suitable for those with some computer knowledge who want to become more familiar with Email and the World Wide Web.
Duration: 5-6 hours

Microsoft Word
This course teaches word processing using Microsoft Word. Topics include: paragraph formatting, adjusting page margins, tables, and more. Suitable for both new users of Word and experienced users who want to learn how to use it better.
Duration: 6-8 hours
Price: $60

Microsoft Excel
This course teaches spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel. Topics include: the creation and modification of formulas, adding rows and columns, graphs and charts, and more. Suitable for both new users of Excel and experienced users who want to be more proficient in it.
Duration: 6-8 hours
Price: $60

Basic HTML and Advanced HTML
This two-part course teaches the skills necessary to create web pages. The Basic course covers: text layout, text formatting, images, hyperlinks, and more. The Advanced course covers: tables, frames, forms, and more. This course is recommended for those who have some familiarity with both computers and the Internet.
Duration: 6-8 hours
